GIVEWAY! Redken 'Color Rebel' Hair Makeup

'Color Rebel' Hair Makeup by Redken is a temporary hair colour or more accurately a hair paint that washes out after 2-3 washes and is meant for occasional use rather than frequent dying!
It's a handy way of getting bright funky hair without the commitment of the usual longer lasting hair dyes.
There are 5 colours in the range which are...

*Purple Riot
*Punked up Pink
*Gilty as Charged
*Red-y to Rock
*Rebel without a Coral

The Hair Makeup uses 'makeup technology' with direct colour pigments which are deposited onto the surface of the hair and are resistant to water and transfer from brushing, rubbing etc. The colour contains pearlescent pigments which gives it a multi-dimensional effect.

Me wearing 'Punked up Pink' !
It looks quite a deep reddish pink against my brunette hair.

How to apply;
1. Apply gloves! It suggests that you can also apply it without gloves as long as you wash your hands immediately afterwards but I found this a bit messy, so gloves it is!!!!
2. Make sure the sponge is in place on the nozzle, give the bottle a good shake and twist the base clock-wise to dispense the product.
3.Grab a section of hair and start to paint the colour on. It is suggested that you not brush your hair much after as it will break up the pigment but I had to brush my hair loads just to soften it and get a little manageability back to it. It really stiffens the hair and for this reason I would recommend it for up-do's or shorter funky haircuts.
4. Use a hairdryer to quicken the setting time as it can take a wee while to dry.

As it states, it should wash out after 2 washes depending on how much you applied, but if you want it out pronto, you can use a hair oil to help dissolve the pigments before shampooing.

  1. wow kinda crazy seeing this post after having an ombre! Since I have dark hair I've only got to a ginger colour with bleaching safely. However my goal is to get a lilac colour which these products will be perfect for and let me keep my hair in good nick while I wait to bleach it again.

  9. Highlights/random streaks or a dip dye. I dip dyed my black hair red last summer but I had to get it cut before I went back to school. I think this is a really good way of temporarily dying your hair.

  10. I've been wanting a purple dip dye for ages and this would be the perfect way to test that out. I've never tried anything new with my hair. It's always just plain dark brown. I need some excitement for a while. luce.luxe.lifestyle@gmail.com

  12. Omg!!! I'm in 6th year now and I would love to win this giveaway because it's against the rules for me to dye my hair 😢 The first thing I'm going to do when I leave school is experiment crazy colours and styles on my hair so I think the 'Colour Rebel' makeup would be a perfect start!!! By the way I love your videos, I'm a huge fan! ☺😙💜 x Beckytaylor1950@hotmail.com

  13. Oh my goodness! I've always wanted to dye my blonde hair pink for the past decade but never really been able to (Job restrictions etc) so these would give me the excuse to fulfill my odd little dream without the commitment!! Email g.stubbings@Hotmail.Co.UK :)

  16. I've got super short, super dark hair and as much as I love dying my hair it really makes my hair break and frizz. These would be such a cool way to get a touch of color without the damage or the permanence of having to bleach my hair in order to get fun colors in my pixie cut.

  17. I can never bleach my hair enough for it to show crazy colours, so I think these would look awesome for festivals or nights out. I would probably dye my ends like you, or do a braided updo like the girl in the picture. Great giveaway btw!

  19. I don't know if my comment posted, so I thought I'd redo it to make sure.. I have short boy hair but almost black in colour with gold/ginger streaks running through it. It's the first time in years it's been it's natural colour. So, to prevent myself getting bored of it I'd just use these all in one go at first, each section a different colour, whilst it's short lets have fun! It's super short because i donated it to Wigs for Kids with Cancer charity, so I'm trying to avoid bleaching/dying it whilst it grows out! I'll definitely be purchasing these if I don't win, but it's always nice to win! My name is Molly O'Hara, my email is mollyohara@live.co.uk

  20. I've been debating with myself about these chalks for about 2 hours now, trying to figure out which color would fit my light brown hair and my only conclusion is - I would love to try them all!!! I have always been such a chicken when it comes to dying my hair (being brought up by a hippie mum who thinks it should stay natural, maybe with the exception of henna).

And as a part time waitress with a shitty salary I realized I would have to work for exactly 213 hours and 50 minutes to be able to afford them (after paying rent and buying food I can save 5 pounds per week). This would mean that I would have to wait until the 20th of June to try these amazing looking colors :/

I would use the gold and the coral one as highlights (always wanted to try that), and the purple, pink and red one as a dip dye.

As my life obviously isn't the most glamorous at the moment, having a new hair color each week would literally make my life more colorful! :)

Thank you for a great blog!!

  23. Hmm, I have quite long mousy brown/blonde hair and I've kept it in its natural state due to the fact I just love how it looks and feels so healthy. However I always see celebrities and even other girls rocking the most epic colours and I've always wondered how my hair would look with a splash of intense colour.

I'm heading to a few festivals this summer so I think something like the color rebel hair makeup would be ideal to use for a cool new look at the gigs :)

  24. Well I have short hair and think they would be cool to try out and I am also trying ( even though I know they are sold out ) to get Ed Sheeran tickets so I would use it for that and could also be cool just for a night out. I could put in one stripe and be like Aria from pretty little liars :-) :-D

  27. For the last few months I have been trying to pluck up the courage to dye my dip-dyed blonde ends a different colour, a bright and snazzy colour, but I just don't know what colour to go with! I would use these to experiment, maybe try them all at once! Stripey hair could work, right? Then I could be more daring and get it done permanently!

  28. I have collarbone length hair and I have been debating on coloring my hair. I love purple and I love red, but they're both quite a commitment. These would be perfect for me. I'm also curious if these would work well with coarse African American hair. I'd love to try them out.

  29. Aye, thank you for this giveaway, Shiv! My hair was put through the ringer last year trying to get my butt length hair to grasp an ombre effect, which only destroyed it! A good chop off later, and I'm back to my full natural hair colour but am craving a bit of a colour pop change for the Spring without just damaging it all over again. Would love to try these. :D

I love to braid my hair since I have quite long hair so I'd definitely color some parts of it to create a colorful braid. It would certainly look pretty nice, even more in the sunny days...
Thanks again and good luck everyone.

  43. I dyed the tips of my hair ages ago purple and red (alternating the colours - so a highlighted effect but on my ends) and miss it so much so have been really wanting to do it again but a semi permanent thing that wouldn't really damage my hair (I had to get the ends bleached before the colour was added & then got a hair cut once the colour faded as the ends were so dry). I would love to experiment with different colours :-) x
