Urban Decay X Gwen Stefani | Palette Review

My first thought when I heard that this palette was coming out was 'another eye shadow palette!?'...
 It was released so close to the latest Naked offering that I was surprised they were churning another one out. Any reservations I had however were quashed as soon as I laid eyes on the gloriously designed palette, in my humble opinion... I say that because this palette design seems to have a marmite quality, placing me firmly in the 'love it' category.

The palette is the result of a collaboration between Pop Rock Goddess Gwen Stefani, the lead singer and persona of Pop Rock group No Doubt and the Makeup Heavyweight Urban Decay.

The packaging I mentioned has a sophisticated, industrial feel to it and is composed of black, gold and white. A colour scheme made in heaven!
Every aspect of this palette was created with the help of Gwen from the design to the shade names and the shades themselves.

The shades vary in tone, finish and intensity. 12 of the 15 shades are brand new creations, with 3 staple shades from the permanent Urban Decay shadow collection. There is a good mix of neutrals with a few stronger shades thrown in for good measure.
I could talk about the shades...or I could just direct you towards the swatches below. I am going to choose the latter as I found all the shades to be of fantastic quality, though I did find I had to work a little harder at building up the pink 'Harajuku' shade compared to the others.
All the swatches below are on clean dry skin.
Oh and I'm obsessed with 'Punk',a supremely pigmented deep maroon brown matte;
MAJOR SWOON!

And to see these guys in action, watch my latest makeup tutorial using the palette here...

This palette is limited edition and available now from Debenhams and House of Fraser in Ireland for the RRP of €46.00

Let me know what you guys think below!
