Would it be a surprise to ye to hear that MAC bring out upwards of 50 odd collections on average each year? Even though I never heard this actual figure while working for them it's not one bit surprising, especially when you consider the online exclusives, or 'X' department store exclusives etc. Anyhu, not that that's either here nor there, just thought it was an interesting tidbit.
One of the newest limited collections that I'm talking about today is the 'Future' collection which is on counters at the minute. This is one of what I used to call a baby collection or secondary collection in that it's not massively extensive and would fit onto one of the small enough collection stands. It is however a really nice and lust worthy collection.
This comprises mostly of the Mineralize range of products with (no prizes here) a futuristic inspiration, even drawing from the five elements...
That's wood, water, fire, earth and metal in-case anyone was wondering about that!
'OtherEarthly' Mineralize Skinfinish is probably my favourite piece from the collection. It's a gorgeous tri-coloured highlight powder that is even described as a "collectors piece" on the MAC website. It's made up of a bronze/gold crescent wave, a pearly rose wave and a silver circle. What I can't tell yet is if the gold and silver is an over-spray or not but as this is something that MAC usually point out in the product description (and is absent here) then I'm assuming not?!... but only time will tell. (See swatches below)
There is also another single toned, soft pastel pink Skinfinish in the collection (€31.00 RRP) that looks equally gorgeous as well as two Mineralize blushes. (€28.00 RRP)
There are 3 Mineralize EyeShadow Quads (€44.00 RRP) in the collection, 'Full Orbit' being the one I received which while looking gorgeous, I haven't swatched as it as it is part of a prize in a giveaway over on my freelance Makeup page on Facebook, but check out swatches of the quad over on Pixiwoo's blog post of the collection.
While I do like the Mineralize shadow formula well enough, it's perhaps a little more sheer that I prefer when used dry BUT it can be intensified by applying with a damp brush or onto damp skin. And I must say I do quite enjoy the sleek black packaging.
The other bits I was sent include;
'Pink Rebel' Lustre Drops (€23.00 RRP) which is a rose-gold coloured liquid highlight that has a gorgeous wet-to-dry formula that genuinely suits all skintypes. This looks gorgeous mixed in with your usual foundation to give a subtle glow.
'Cybernaut' Mineralize Lipstick (€27.00 RRP) a gorgeous pinky nude shade which has a super nourishing, luxurious formula and while it does wear fairly well on the lips is built more for comfort than longevity.
and finally...
'The Zone' Mineralize Glass (aka a lip gloss, €25.00 RRP) which is described as a "Dirty mauve with pearl" but I think looks more like a bronze with gold reflect, either way it's a cool enough looking shade that would make me look twice despite not usually being that bothered about lip glosses.
You can check out the rest of the range on the MAC website but I will say it's one of the more eye catching collections that the brand have released in a while in my opinion.
That's it for now,
Catch ye later.
Shiv.
xx
