Another day, another skincare post.....
BUT this is a firm favourite of mine and for a good while now!
I'd say I must have tried about 50 different eye cream formulas in my time & I'm very particular about what I like. Especially since I've noticed the skin around the under-eye area starting to show the first signs of *gasp* aging!!! EEK! Not fun >_<
For me the most important properties are hydration & light texture, but not too light!
I've had thicker, rich creams but hate the feeling of these just sitting on top of the skin, making them useless for under makeup..... (though these are fine for night-time while I'm asleep and don't care!)
I like my day time formula to be light but not too watery & to soak into the skin shortly after application while still keeping the area hydrated for the bulk of the day!
Luckily I don't suffer from puffy under-eyes (yet!!), and even though I can get quite dark under my eyes, I wouldn't expect a cream to take care of that!
When I see any product claiming to 'reduce circles', I immediately dismiss it. I know my under-eye darkness is due to prominent veins and the transparency of my skin. Nothing in a little pot for €30 is gonna magically take care of that! Plus people who have dark circles due to higher melanin levels in the skin (usually hereditary) similarly shouldn't expect such creams to work wonders on them.
Anyhow, back to the 'All about eyes'....
It's a gel like formula which is really silky to the feel. It spreads on the skin easily & absorbs readily, while keeping the area really moisturised throughout the day!
Plus it works beautifully as a makeup primer too ^_^
What the website claims....
"Lightweight eye cream diminishes the appearance of eye puffs, darkness and fine lines. Non-creep, cream/gel formula actually helps hold eye makeup in place. For use morning and night, both under eyes and on lids. Ophthalmologist Tested." - Source
Like I said, I don't pay any heed in the diminishing of darkness claims really, but it does contain optical-diffusers which helps brighten the area a smidge. As far as the eye puffiness thing goes, it contains caffeine & 'botanicals' which are soothing so may help with slight and occasional puffiness, but if your bags mean business and your mama also had them, then definitely don't expect this to do any good. You'd be better off looking into laser treatment or something a little more hard-core.
I find that this hydrates the skin well enough that it helps to counteract the appearance of fine-lines due to dehydration, which really is my main concern when it comes to that area.
Other reviews I've seen of this online have been really mixed but as far as I'm concerned it's a really lovely gel/cream for the eye area. Just as long as you don't get too hyped over the ambitious claims on the packaging!
What are your favourite under-eye formulas??

ReplyDeleteI always forget to apply it for daily use, but I wear it going to bed!
I prefer it for morning since it's such a good makeup base but good for nighttime too:)
