Ahoy hoy ^_^
Recently, Cora from the super popular and fab VintageOrTacky Youtube channel contacted me about collaborating on a makeup & outfit video inspired by a necklace that both of us came to own! I bought mine from River Island here in Ireland and Cora got her's online.
(Turns out Cora bought her's after she saw mine posted on my instagram a few months ago, ha ha)
The necklace it's self (in the picture above) is a beautiful piece of costume jewelry with pewters & golds, and all the 'rainbow' colours running throughout the larger glass pieces, the perfect inspiration for makeup.
We also both styled an outfit around the necklaces and each came up with very different looks!
Cora designed this stunning layered winged eyeshadow/liner look with coloured speckles adorning the tip of the wings and she finished off the look with striking ruby lashes & bright pink lips perfectly matching her gorgeous hair!!
And her equally gorgeous outfit comprised of this class monochrome skull dress while she kept the rest of her outfit simple with neutral styling & accessories, letting the necklace and makeup keep centre stage!
Head on over to Cora's Youtube channel and blog to see more of her look!
For my own end I created a metallic looking eye with a double-ended wing shape decorated with cute little gems, in an attempt to emulate the reflective jewels of the necklace. Admittedly, the eyeliner shape came out a tad 'odd' but I quite liked how it took on the silhouette of butterfly wings ^_^
As for my outfit, I decided to stick largely with black, adding gold and crimson accents to mimic the same tones of the necklace....
The dress is in Penneys at the minute and I am in love with the shape and fit, I will be wearing it to death in work over the christmas period without a doubt! It came with a black belt that has a cute bow at the front but I changed it over to this gold belt, also from Penneys (Primark in Ireland).
The rest of the outfit is listed below but I need to take a second to point out that the black and gold skirt I had on under the dress is absolutely stunning and will definitely need to be featured again in an outfit post soon. (See picture below!)

I love both of you! You're two of my favourite Youtubers!
ReplyDeleteCora and you look beautiful!
Aww thank you!! xxx
DeleteThis is incredible, I'm completely in love with this look and sad that I can't get Catrice or Bourjois here in the states...you completely accomplished the metallic rainbow effect you were going for, which was what attracted me here in the first place (I HAD to know what you used!)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful! And I love the outfit you put together too!
Hey :) Apparently Bourjois is on ASOS, though that is third hand info. I'm sure Catrice will eventually reach there, it has become such a popular brand recently!!! Thank you :) xxxx
DeleteThis collaboration really kicks ass! I love the makeup stylings of both of you guys and these makeups look amazing!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lady :) Not sure if you got the comment I left on your channel but I can't answer your comments under my videos for some reason!?
