Product Focus; Clinique 'Clarifying Lotion' #2
Love, love, love this stinky little lotion ^_^ !!
So I'll begin with the most noticeable con; The smell, peee-euuuu! It's definitely on the strong side and quite alcohol-y. Now this isn't actually a massive deal with me personally but I know many a gal that gets her knickers in a twist at the mere mention of alcohol in facial products. The alcohol content in Clinique isn't really that high, but Clinique being a brand that believes in 'pure' ingredients, doesn't mask their ingredients with unnecessary smell-heavy fragrances and thus you smell what you get!

Neutral & Nutmeg..... Occasional Makeup Tutorial.
Howdy Guys:)
So continuing on with my party/occasion makeup tutorials for this years festive season, I took heed of a few requests I got for a more 'wearable' or neutral party makeup!
I went relatively neutral on the eyes but mixed textures and went full on with lashes and liner, of course!!!

Bourjois EyeShadow Pots.
Bourjois EyeShadow Pots ^_^
Hey Guys!!
So while in boots the last day, I decided to pick up a few 'drug store', or as we call it here 'pharmacy', brand eyeshadows for an inexpensive makeup tutorial I plan on filming a little later on this month.
These Bourjois eyeshadows caught my eye while roaming about the place as they sparkled under the unnatural lights of the store. That, and they are on a '3 for 2' offer in Boots at the moment so I just couldn't resist!!
The lighter 'highlight' colour I already had but I picked up the 3 dark 'smokey' colours, and purposely chose colours I don't normally reach for ie. forrest green & dark navy. The black seemed very black and as I don't actually own any stand alone, single black matte eyeshdow (not in palettes), I picked that up along with the dark jewel tone shadows which I think will work nicely in a dark smokey eye look.

Lipcote.... Sealin' Smackers for over 50 yrs!!
(Lipcote ad. from the 1950's)
Hey Guys,
Many of ye may know that the Lipstick Sealer 'Lipcote' which is a top-coat for lipstick to seal it in place for hours of wear, and prevents transference, smudging, fading & feathering, has been around for longer than many of us have, 50+ years now!!! Pretty nifty work!
The package above sports the new logo & design courtesy of a collaboration with illustrator Dora (http://www.okdora.com/dora/) who is largely inspired by 1950's burlesque and femininity, making her the perfect person for the job.

Now that Halloween is well & truly done til next year, it's time to focus on my second favourite holiday of the year! Anastasia of Beverly Hills 'Express Beauty'
So according to the website..... http://www.anastasia.net/ ..... Miss Anastasia Soare, originally an esthetician from Romania but now living and working in L.A., is known as the 'Beauty Innovator and The Definitive Brow and Eye Expert' and, it says, for good reason.
She boasts an impressive list of celeb clients from Oprah to Madonna, and has been featured in Vogue, Allure, Elle and a number of other high profile publications.
She ''developed her own specific Golden Ratioª technique behind the science of shaping eyebrows"* based on her background in Art, engineering, architecture & mathematics, as well as her interest in Leonardo DaVinci's 'Golden Ratio'.
All that, along with years of dedication to the balance of beauty, has led her to where she is now and to her hugely successful 'Anastasia Brow Studios'.
So there you have a small background snippet of woman herself, now onto the product at hand.

October favourites '11..... MAC, Sleek, Vichy, Pixi & more!
Hey Everyone:)
Can't believe just how quick this past month seemed to fly by.
Seriously feels like 5 minutes since I filmed & uploaded my Sept' fave's.
Even though I hadn't thought I was wearing much makeup throughout October, turns out I was wrong!
But in my defense, most of my favourites were backlogged products that had been sent to me months ago that I had only recently started trying out.

'Soap & Glory' Makeup Range.
Hey Guys:)
I was sniffing around in my local Boots pharmacy (Drug Store) & inevitably made a bee-line for the cosmetics section, and one of the first stands I saw was an unfamiliar one belonging to the new 'Soap & Glory' Makeup Range!
Delighted with myself for stumbling across such a lovely find.
I've been told that these makeup products are new to the rest of the 'Soap & glory' range which is best known for it's plumping lipgloss 'Sexy Mother Pucker'.

Halloween '11; Pierrot (Sad clown/mime makeup)
My final Halloween makeup tutorial of '11.....
PIERROT.
I love the story behind this unfortunate character.
He was originally a French pantomime character portrayed by 17th Centuary Italian group called 'Comédie Italienne' who performed in Paris.
'Pierrot' is a pet name for 'Pierre' or Peter in English.
In the story he pines for his elusive love, his wife Columbine, who leaves him for Harlequin, a black-faced character who is the Devils right hand man.
Pierrot is a bit of a fool, and always the unlucky loser :(
Towards the 19th C. he became less of a fool & was portrayed more & more as a tragic, eternal sad clown, with the moon & stars as his only constant companions.
Here's my take on the character.....

SUPER BRIGHT RED HAIR!!!..... How to & my hair story ^_^
PLEASE NOTE;
These products (L'Oreal MajiContrast & developer) are not intended for use by non professionals.
They are trade only products and therefore require you to be a trade card holder (i.e a professional hairdresser, beautician etc) to purchase.
However if you are not able to get the products I strongly advise going to a hairdressers/salon that use the L'Oreal products and telling them that this is what you want.
If you do get the products but are not a pro, please get a friend who may be a colorist to help or do your homework!! Bleach/ammonia products can be very damaging to the hair if not used properly.
ALWAYS follow the instructions.

Hello Kitty for Sephora = ^_^ = ; Product of the week!
Eep!!
So I have to admit that going on a healthy 15 yrs or so now, I have been somewhat obsessed with Hello Kitty & all things related..... have a tattoo, based my end of yr college show on her etc
So you can imagine my excitement and then immediate despair when I found out that Sephora carry the official Sanrio Hello Kitty makeup, and that it is actually decent quality. (The despair was down to the fact that my closest Sephora is in Paris, yay 0_o)
Fast forward to my favourite Youtuber Heather (Sokolum79) telling me about the Hello Kitty Makeup she saw in her Sephora, and fast forward again to my receiving a package from her containing this beauty below.....

I ❤ Penneys/Primark!!!
Hey Guys,
So living in Ireland can be a pain at times due to the fact that we lack so many great shops that many other countries get to enjoy...cough... Sephora... cough.
We just recently got a Forever 21 but like many of those great stores, it resides up in Dublin.
Here in Galway we still have no H&M (though rumor is that it's on its way...)
We got a TK Maxx a couple of yrs back, and to be fair it is getting better. We also have River Island, TopShop, Miss Selfridges etc but they do tend to be pricey for the basic bits like vest tops and such.
One shop that we do have however, and it has been here for a long time is Penneys (Also known as Primark in the UK & mainland Europe). When I was younger, Penneys was the most uncool place to shop, and you'd be embarrassed when your Mam came home with something from there, but fast forward 20 yrs or so & it has gradually become one of the "cooler" places to purchase from. This is largely thanks to it opening on Oxford St. in London and the new fashion buyers the company brought in.

Non-tutorial Makeup Play!
Hey Guys ^_^
So first off, this isn't a tutorial!!
I often just play with makeup when I have free time to try out new products, or to see how different textures etc work together or to try out different techniques. And I decided to record the process this time just so kind of share my thought process I suppose.
This isn't meant to be a finished 'look' as such, just what happened at the end of my play time!!
So this isn't a tutorial and what products I used don't matter either!
Either way, hope ye enjoy it.

"How do I make my foundation last all day??" - Definitely one of the questions I get asked the most in work!!
Or people will just tell me how their foundation had disappeared by early afternoon or that it separates etc.

Racing Makeup..... MAC Tutorial
Hey Beauty People ^_^
This is a re-create of a makeup I did on a client this week who was on her way to the first meet of this years' famous Galway Races.
Using almost all MAC Makeup, it comprises of a gold & purple smokey structured eye & nude lip.
Her dress was a beautiful cool toned purple from Topshop, she had blue eyes & blonde hair!!

Sleek Makeup "Caribbean Collection"
Howdy Folk!
Was looking forward to showing ye all this gorgeous colourFUL Makeup Collection by Sleek Makeup but I know I'm pretty late off the mark since it's been available for almost 2 weeks now.
Called the 'Caribbean Collection' this is only going to be available for a limited time as is the case with many of the prettier Sleek i-divine palettes.
You can see straight away from the picture just how bright the shades here are and why so aptly named after the colourful caribbean aesthetic. Staying with that theme though I also think this particular collection is better suited to darker skin tones just because of how intense the pigments show up on the skin. I can forget about wearing the orange blush called "Aruba"! As beautiful as it is, it is just too much for my pasty pale skin. Though saying that, I have been wearing it as an eyeshadow & am totally in love with it as that.
(The blushes cost £4.29)

Taylor Momsen Smiles ^_^
I've always had a bit of an affinity towards young Miss Momsen since her Gossip Girl days & subsequent rebellion into uber Rock Chick Bad Girl. Despite being one of the moodiest looking teens to , ermm, grace the glossies, she definitely has one of the prettier faces, with or without makeup!
(Click on pics to enlarge)
Ms. Momsen without the slap!!
I am one of those relatively few people who adore her "racoon" eyemakeup look (when applied correctly) and in these pics it is absolute makeup perfection with fake lashes applied to both top & bottom.

Precision pen liner..... Fine lining!
It took me a while to latch onto the marker-like eyeliners, (that came onto the market relatively recently), initially but I am at last converted.... well kind of!!
It depends on the quality obviously but this can vary widely. The first I ever tried was the Eyelure pen which is decent to be fair but dries up way too quickly during application.... major points lost.
I tried the Mac "Penultimate" liner next which again is decent but the nib just isn't quite as sturdy-while-being-fine as I'd like, and line work isn't as delicate with it pretty early on which is also sucky.
Recently I got my grubby little fingers on "Velvet... by Migi Cosmetics" by way of Heather (Sokolum79 ....again thank you!!)
Now this is a pen worth blogging about! Unfortunately Migi is a brand I've never come across here at my end of the world, I think I've only heard it being mentioned during various youtube videos.
But I believe that it's widely available throughout the US & Canada etc.

Product of the Week; Collection 2000 "16hrs wear Lasting Perfection concealer"
Well!!!
I discovered this little gem from watching Pixiwoo videos and them raving about this cheap but apparently amazing concealer. Now, I am a fan of Collection 2000 in general especially considering the price but have never bothered with their base makeup before, (ie. foundation, concealer etc) as I have found in my experience that it's usually better to pay the little extra for that stuff to be good.
Oh how wrong was I!!!

Product of the Week; Wet 'n' Wild "Fast dry" nail color in 237C "Gray's Anatomy"
Hey Guys!!
Finally can get back to my POTW's now that I'm back in action on the net!
Meet Wet 'n' Wild's "Fast dry" nail color in 237C "Gray's Anatomy"
The pictures unfortunately do not do the colour justice, the pink shot-through "duo chrome" effect is much stronger in real life natural light!

NYX Makeup Artist Kit.
Howdy Guys:)
So I found myself today in possession of this makeup kit from NYX Cosmetics after a trip to my local beauty supply store to buy false lashes for a wedding job this week. I'm the worst impulse buyer ever! Ha ha. Anyhow, the shop in question will no longer be selling NYX so I was having a look at the products to see if there was anything I fancied. There was nothing I wanted from the permanent 'single' range but I saw this palette by the till and just had to have it of course!!
It cost me $42 (Which is good for Ireland for this type of palette, google "rip-off Ireland", lol;P)

Face Chart Art!
Hey Everyone,
Was sorting through my photo albums and came across some of my face charts. Even though I don't have much time to do them now-a-days, I am a huge fan of face charts & think they are great for working out looks.
Here are a few of my fave ones that are somewhat wearable ^_^
