My 2013 Makeup Wish List!

Welcome to LetzMakeup in 2013 Everyone :)
Seeing as my last post of 2012 was about what I got for Christmas/December etc, I though my first one for the New Year should be about what makeup I hope to get my grubby little paws on over the upcoming 12 months!
My family & friends look at me like I'm crazy when I proclaim that need to pick up some new piece of makeup, but there's just so many drool-inducing makeup & beauty products out there that I still want to get, never mind needing to replenish bits for my professional kit!

One product that I've been meaning to purchase for a few years now is the Flash Palette, which is a 12 pan coloured cream makeup palette, by MakeupForever.

It retails for $95 in the US as far as I know and about £70 in the UK. I haven't checked this price in Ireland or if it is even available from the MakeupForever Store in Dublin, but seen as makeup is always more expensive here than across the water, I'm not going to bother!
I'll probably pick it up from the Guru Makeup Emporium Website when I do allow myself to splurge on it. I definitely expect to have it in time for this years Halloween tutorials which I plan on starting again in September, but if I make it to the IMATS in London in June, I'll sure try my hardest to pick it up from there!!

Another palette I've been lusting after for the past while now is the Bobbi Brown BBU Cream Makeup Palette.

As it appears on the Bobbi Brown UK website.

Picture from the US/Global website.

This online exclusive retails for £185 from the Bobbi Brown UK Website and for $250 from the Bobbi Brown US Website and unfortunately is really difficult to get hold of!!
I tried purchasing from the UK site but the feckers don't ship outside the UK and I'm reluctant to try purchasing from the US site due to the likelihood of getting caught with customs in Ireland. I e-mailed the customer service attached to the UK crowd enquiring as to how I would be able to get it and they just apologised saying simply that they do not deliver outside the UK. They did however suggest that I try contacting the Belfast House of Fraser Mail Order Service, which is exactly what I next plan on doing! (Probably as a birthday treat for myself in March though!!)
It contains 13 Corrector Shades, 14 Concealer Shades & 20 Foundation Shades of cream makeup.
I think this palette would be a welcome addition to any professional makeup kit ............
 especially my own ^_^

The first of two foundations I have been coveting is the YSL Le Teint Touche Éclat Foundation. Retailing for €38 here in Ireland from Brown Thomas Department Stores, it is surprisingly affordable considering the brand itself and the popularity of the original Touche Éclat Highlighter which costs a whopping €35 in comparison!

It is available in 22 shades over 3 skintones from the palest cream to rich dark brown shades. It offers a medium buildable coverage that promises to photograph beautifully and gives a luminous finish.
A colleague of mine recently bought it and I am in awe of her skin every time I see her wearing wearing it. It gives her that much lusted after 'Flawless finish'..... I Want!!!!

And lastly, I was in a local Pharmacy recently to look at some Shisedo foundations which disappointedly did not come in shades light enough for my skin, but happily in the same store I came across the SmashBox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Foundation and had a feel of the formula, falling instantly in love!!
Costing €35.50, which is a very reasonable higher-end foundation price, this also comes in a lovely light colour and has a decent shade range as well.

This promises to last all day and was also formulated for photography, containing a low SPF 10 which won't leave that dreaded 'white cast' in photographs.

There are plenty more bits I'll be picking up in the foreseeable future no doubt but the four guys I've mentioned here are the ones that have really been making me crazy due to not having them in my possession!

What are all your planned or hoped for purchases for 2013??

Back soon :)

Siobhán.

  6. ooOOooh. I've been wanting the flash palette for about 4 years now, but I can't bring myself to spend $100 on ONE single item! Maybe if I go to IMATS NY & they have it on a good discount I'll consider.
