Happy Tuesday Folks ^_^
Time for another Product Focus post and this one is about the new Olay Total Effects 7 in 1 Moisturiser & Serum Duo SPF20. (I swear product titles are getting more & more wordy now-a-days!!)
I'll start by saying that this will be available from next month (February 2013) and will retail for about €23 - €24, just incase ye go looking now and can't find it.
What Olay have done is taken their popular Total Effects Day Moisturiser and have added a concentrated serum to the mix. I have to admit, I'm loving all these products lately that have a serum included in the formula, like the Max Factor Ageless Elixir Foundation & the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation... 2 of my favourites!
I am going to attribute this to my newly maturing skin (no longer as oily as I once was :( Skin has definitely become more combination/dry over the past few years, still with an oily T-zone though!)
I used to find in my late teens/ early 20s that most serums were too rich for my younger, sensitive, oilier skin but now they are my saviour!
This particular formula comes with a handy pump dispenser and is in a plastic bottle, which I prefer to glass for travel reasons and for my makeup kit.
You can see the dual formula in the packaging, with a white cream swirled about with a beige coloured cream. But when pumped out, you get a plain ol' off white cream. No surprise there really!
It contains many kick-ass ingredients to help combat the "7 signs of aging" hence the name.
Some of these include....
1. Niacinamide; which is also in the Olay Total Effects Face Masks.
This is basically a multi-benefiting anti-aging vitamin (B3) that helps with lines & wrinkles, skin tone, hydration and loads more!
2. Glycerin and Pro-Vitamin B5; Intensely hydrating.
3; Vitamin E & Green Tea; Powerful anti-oxidants.
It contains soft focus pigments to "blur the look of imperfections" and it also contains a SPF of 20 UVA/UVB to help protect the skin from any further damage.
I definitely think this type of formula will be perfect for post Christmas skin and of course to help repair the damage and exhaustion of the skin caused by harsh weather & air-conditioning/indoor heating.

Look out for it from next month on in all Olay Stockists such as Boots Pharmacies, local pharmacies, Dunnes Stores etc.
Til next post,
Take Care,
Siobhán.

Per your recommendation, a lovely friend sent me the Max Factor Elixer 2in1 Serum/Foundation and I lovelovelove it! I've asked another friend to send me 2 more as I don't wish to be out of this terrific product! Prior to using the MF I was (and still do) using either Missha BB Cream or Marcelle's BB Cream ... the MF is similar in texture and lightness on my skin ... and for my skin, the MF covers well:) Now ... I am currently using Lancome's Genifique Serum and love that ... when I run out ... after reading this review ... I am wondering what you opinion is on my using the Olay product instead? I use other moisturizers on my skin (either DeCleor or Stri-Vectin - both of which I attribute the improvement of my skin to) ... do you feel that I would be over doing it with the Olay or just go ahead (since one can always moisturize in the winter and it never seems enough!)... oxo Care (aka Ukeelady on YT) and a devoted subscriber! oxo
ReplyDeleteHi Care :) I would say go ahead and try it out if you can get your hands on it without overpaying! It's a lovely product. My mom has stolen my bottle, ha ha. I'd be annoyed if I weren't trying out like 5 other creams at the minute! xx
Deleteall products of oley are so nice ... i must appreciate all oley products which give us young beautiful glowing skin.
ReplyDeleteThanks & Regards
