Elaborate Masquerade Makeup Tutorial; Halloween '13

Booooooo :(

It has come to that saddest time of the year again where I have to say goodbye to my Halloween makeup creations and return to the more 'everyday' wearable looks (mostly)....

 But before that happens, I have one last look to fit in before Halloween tomorrow and it's this elaborate masquerade mask makeup, possibly my favourite of all my Halloween looks from this year! 

It's a very theatrical look with obvious similarities to Prince Poppycock, Cirque du Soleil, Illamasqua's dark historical Berlin-esque aesthetic and a little reminiscent of my mask from last year too.

Howdy Guys,

It has been such a busy month for me so far mainly because of the Halloween makeup videos (which can take about 2 days each to complete from start to finish with set-up, filming, editing etc), as well as all my other work and that means a lot of hours/days spent indoors and plonked down in front of my computer...

Removing Gelatine Facial Prosthetics & Spirit Gum.

I always get asked about how I wash my face & remove prosthetics made from gelatine and latex etc after I make a Halloween video, so after my last tutorial, I filmed the removal/cleansing process and talk through it so ye can have a look!

I feel like I need to add here that I am not a professional special effects makeup artist by any means, I have learned by watching and doing, and largely by trial and error, so I cannot say that this is 100% the best or correct way to do it but this is how I know how to do it and what works for me :)

Also, I will say that my face was (and almost always is) a little sensitive for a day or two after I did/do this type of makeup!

 I was itching to do something really dark and sinister for my next Halloween tutorial and came up with this gorgeous young thing :P

I made it using my usual gelatine mix (listed below).

It is a surprisingly simple makeup to recreate and on a very low budget!

Evil Demon; Halloween Makeup Tutorial.

My next tutorial is up and it's a freaky one!
This Demon look is inspired by a design created by graphic artist / illustrator Michael Broussard who has worked for the likes of comic monsters Marvel®.
I came across a picture of a face painting that Michael had done on his wife a couple of years ago and thought it was so cool and freaky and unique that I was dying to try it out!!!
So I contacted the artist through his facebook page  to ask his permission to recreate the look for one of my videos and he very kindly said to go for it :)

I've been using and loving Dermablend for years, even since before they reformulated and repackaged several years ago. (They reformulated again in 2012)

It's the Wicked Witch of the West inspired by Theodora from the 2012 film "Oz the Great and Powerful" and Elphaba from the musical "Wicked" which I went to for my birthday earlier this year :)

I shot another Autumn ready lookbook over the past couple of weeks since it's my absolutely favourite time of the year to buy clothes and layer up outfits! I have put myself on a spending ban (Clothes, makeup etc) for the month of October apart from a €20 a week allowance which I am so far sticking to! I have had these bits since before then, some were sent C/o Romwe.com through their blogger programme, but I also spent a pretty penny or two on the site as well which is one of the things that prompted me to enforce the ban!!!

Bourjois' Java Rice Powder..... Celebrating 150yrs!

In 1863 French Actor Joseph- Albert Ponsin sets up a cosmetics company selling makeup & perfume to stage actors and actresses. 5 years later a company partner, Alexandre-Napoleon Bourjois takes over the reigns and so is born the 'Bourjois' name. Romwe have asked me to share with you guys the information about their cooperation with the lovely Talia Joy Castellano, who lost her long running battle with childhood Cancer at just 13 years of age last July.

Talia was a popular and hugely inspirational Youtube Beauty Guru who used her Youtube channel as a platform for her optimism and hope. Can ye tell by all my fashion posts lately that I'm a wee bit excited about dressing for this time of the year!?.....

I LOVE Autumn, no avoiding it and as a result have gone bonkers over the past month or so filling out my Autumn/Winter wardrobe. (With the result that I am imposing a much needed spending ban through-out the month of October on myself, wahhhh!!!!)

So while that ban will help prevent me from spending any more money (unnecessarily) over the next 30 days, it won't stop my blogger C/o items coming or mean that I can't share with ye what I did accumulate over said past month.
